Zolpidem, marketed as Ambien or Stilnox, is a nonbenzodiazepine used for the short-term treatment of insomnia. This stable-labeled internal standard is uniquely suited for GC/MS applications because, unlike the dimethyl-D₆ analog, the deuterium label is retained in the major production fragment. As with the dimethyl-D₆ internal standard (Z-001), the D₇-labeled analog is suitable for LC/MS methods.
